Drinking Water System Installation – Step 3 – Install Faucet and Drain Line Connectors
(Video transcript included below.)

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT [EDITED]:

Hi. I’m Joe McCusker. We’re here at The LeverEdge in Odessa, Florida and we’re going to show you how to install a drinking water system.

Step 3 –  Install Faucet and Drain Line Connectors

Locate the cold water supply line. This one has been marked. Turn off the cold water supply. Relieve pressure by opening the faucet. Remove the line.

NOTE: To identify the cold water supply, run the hot water until hot water flows from the faucet. Feel the lines under sink to identify which is hot and then mark the cold line.

Install John Guest stainless steel angle stop valve. Reconnect the cold water supply line to the faucet. Tighten fittings as you go along. Verify that the angle stop is in the off position. Close faucet and slowly open the cold water supply. Check for leaks and repair as needed.

Drain saddle installation. The saddle will need to be located above the P trap on the drainpipe. Do not install on the same drain pipe as the garbage disposal.

Loosely install the saddle onto the pipe and mark with a suitable tool.

Slide the saddle out of the way and, using a quarter-inch drill bit, drill through one side of the pipe ONLY.

Slide the drain saddle into position and align with a suitable tool. Tighten the mounting hardware firmly.
