On Saturday, March 5th The LeverEdge donated 32 Hi-Tec solar pool heating collectors to Camp Boggy Creek, a therapeutic camp for seriously ill children in central Florida, and supervised the installation of the camp’s new solar pool heating system. Many volunteers from electric cooperatives across the nation were on hand and helped to replace the camp’s expensive propane heating system with the new solar heating system that will keep the pool the right temperature for the special needs of the camp’s children.
Camp Boggy Creek, a year-round retreat, was founded in 1996 by actor Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf with one simple premise in mind, that “every child, no matter their illness, could experience the transformational spirit and friendships that go hand in hand with camp.” Visit www.boggycreek.org to learn more.
